Carron to Launch New Single at Whelan's
The Irish sister duo introduce Dublin to a medley of Pop and Celtic-folk music
Sister act, Carron, presents new music from their EP Roots at Whelan’s this Friday. The single 'Prison Robes' delves into the deep changes that recently occurred in their family life. The themes of family, relationships and change consistently reoccur throughout the EP. Pure M Magazine awarded Roots "Best EP 2016" back in April.
Infusing traditional Irish styles with American Folk, Méabh and Mella Carron harmonize to deliver stories about family illness and relationships. Carron have been compared to the likes of The Corrs and Fleetwood Mac. A tinge of country may even please the ear, as influences from Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton shine through.
A set of cover songs are also planned into the mix of originals for Friday evening, such as Blackstreet's hit 'No Diggity.'
Tickets are €5, doors 8PM
