Bowie guitarist and musical director Gerry Leonard announced for Dublin Bowie Festival 2017
Bowie's life lives on through the music of the Irish guitarist this January.
January is not too far off now! In a matter of weeks, the 2nd annual Dublin Bowie Festival kicks off in honour of Ziggy Stardust. Bowie guitarist and musical director Gerry Leonard has just been announced as a special guest who will perform at Whelan's, Monday, January 9.
The 55-year-old artist worked with Bowie on Heathen, Reality and The Next Day albums, as well as joined in on the Heathen and Reality tours. Among his impressive work with the deceased star, Leonard was also the musical director for the Reality tour and DVD back in 2003.
During the Bowie festival, Leonard will perform Bowie's works alongside a handful of special guests and his personal solo work, Spooky Ghost, which features a uniquely ambient soundscape. After the performance, guests can view a question & answer session run by Professor Eoin Devereaux, the author of David Bowie: Critical Perspectives.
The Dublin Bowie festival runs from January 5-10.
Tickets to see Gerry Leonard are €15 and can be bought online at www.tickets.ie
