Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Alan Sparhawk, Tim Heidecker and more feature on new album in solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers
All proceeds go to American Gateways and Casa Marinella, who provide services to immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Alan Sparhawk and Tim Heidecker will feature on Artists in Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers, which is set for release on December 5, via Western Vinyl.
The album is made up of 17 artists, who each share the common goal of standing in solidarity with those seeking refuge or asylum from war, poverty or other causes.
All proceeds from this collaboration will go to American Gateways and Casa Marinella, two organisations based in Texas who provide no-to-low-cost legal services, food, shelter, access to health care, and other essential services to immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
Writing on their instagram, passage records say: "In recognition and defense of our human rights to safety, security, and safe passage, seventeen artists sat down in a place of comfort–one that feels like home–to write/record a song. Captured through home studio set-ups, even phones, the resulting seventeen songs invite us to meet the urgency of this moment."
The cover artwork is done by artist Reena Kallat and depicts contested geographies around the world.
The LP is available for pre-order on Bandcamp, which you can find down below:
