Bob Dylan Pays Tribute To "Great" Tom Petty
A "shocked" Bob Dylan has paid tribute to his former Traveling Wilburys' bandmate Tom Petty, who has sadly died at only 66 years of age.
“It’s shocking, crushing news," Bob Dylan has said of the passing of Tom Petty.
"I thought the world of Tom. He was great performer, full of the light, a friend, and I’ll never forget him.”
Back in 1988, Tom Petty had co-founded the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys along with Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynee.
They released two album together, ‘Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 and they decided out of fun to call the second album, ‘Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3’ in 1990.
“That was George’s idea. He said, ‘Let’s confuse the buggers,'" recalled Jeff Lynne.
