Blinded By Science
Koma & Bones are the latest in a long list of nu-breaks acts tipped for greatness.
Koma & Bones are the latest in a long list of nu-breaks acts tipped for greatness. There have been assorted mutterings that the dance floor breaks – sound is nothing more than slowed down drum’n’bass. Koma & Bones’ debut album, Blinded By Science puts paid to these allegations with a collection of tracks that draw on a wide range of styles for inspiration.
From the deep techno sounds and electro rhythms of ‘Forged Minds’, through the hip-hop influenced ‘Kicks’, and the filthy sub-bass taunts of ‘Morpheus’ (with its “you’re afraid of us, you’re afraid of change” mantra) this is a fitting two fingers to those who doubt the power of break-beat science.
