Barry Manilow announces new album What A Time
Listen to his new song 'Sun Shine' below.
Barry Manilow is set to release his first new album in nearly 15 years this summer. The record, titled What A Time, is scheduled for release on June 5.
Manilow, a pioneer of soft rock in the 1970s, is best known for his hits ‘Mandy,’ ‘Looks Like We Made It,’ and ‘Copacabana.’ The latter track brought him a Grammy award in 1979. Manilow also topped the album charts in 1982 with Barry Live In Britain.
Produced alongside his longtime collaborator Michael Lloyd, What A Time follows Manilow's 2011 LP, 15 Minutes, which achieved a Top 20 position on the Official Albums Chart.
The track ‘Sun Shine’ was also released yesterday and is available now on all streaming platforms. The song was co-written by Manilow and Take That's Gary Barlow, and produced by Manilow with David Benson and Greg Bartheld.
"'Sun Shine' is radiant of feel-good new single that offers a glimpse into Barry Manilow's forthcoming new album What A Time." reads the caption of the song's music video. "Breezy and melodic, the song becomes an immediate friend, one that you want to hear from again and again."
Manilow is also scheduled to resume his farewell tour in April, following its postponement in December after his lung cancer diagnosis.
The album is now available for pre-order ahead of its release.
