Built in 1727, Ghan House is a real Georgian gem, and one of the oldest private houses of its kind in Ireland, offering just 12 bedrooms in total, four in the main house and eight in the garden annex a few metres away. As Ghan House is also home to a highly-rated cooking school, the rustic cuisine in the restaurant is something special, making terrific use of Carlingford’s natural resources, including herbs from the herb garden, shellfish from the lough and mountain-reared lamb from nearby Cooley.
