Entertainment world reacts to England's 2-1 loss to France
England fans were left bitterly disappointed at their teams's loss following a tense game against France and a disappointing missed penalty by captain Harry Kane.
Disappointment faced by many fans as England are knocked out of the World Cup by France.
There were high hopes for the UK team but France took the lead with ten minutes to spare after Olivier Giroud scored the game’s winning goal.
Despite levelling the score early in the second half after France had Aurélien Tchouaméni to thank for an early lead, supporters were shocked after captain Harry Kane missed a crucial penalty.
This defeat will see France progress into the semi finals to go head-to-head with Morocco.
It took no time for celebs across the entertainment industry to flock to Twitter to express their disappointment.
That's football, sometimes it goes against you. Gutted for Harry. Allez Morocco!

With a better/fairer Referee, @England would have won that or at least gone to pens.
So, no disgrace. We are as good, if not better, than the likely winners. Gareth and the whole squad deserve a lot of credit. 👏🏻— Andy Burnham (@AndyBurnhamGM) December 10, 2022

As the World Cup draws to an end with the final scheduled for Sunday, 18th December, the global tournament was not without its share of controversies and criticism, as the chosen location of Qatar was condemned for its views on homosexuality, the status of women, and the alleged deaths of thousands of migrant workers.
In the lead up to its beginning, Dua Lipa denied claims she was going to perform at the opening ceremony, calling on Qatar to, “fulfil all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup.” Rod Stewart echoed these sentiments, confirming that he was asked but had turned down the opportunity to join in the sporting celebrations.
Earlier in the tournament, the ‘OneLove’ armbands worn by England and Wales players were requested to be removed during matches following the threat of sanctions by FIFA. In protest, Germany, at their match with Japan, wore rainbows on their boots and covered their mouths with training kit in photos.
