WATCH: High flying new trailer for Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick
After a series of delays, the long awaited sequel will finally hit theatres on May 27th.
Paramount Pictures has dropped a new trailer today for Top Gun: Maverick. The trailer gives us our first look at how Val Kilmer’s “Iceman” will fit into the new story as well as more of the thrilling aerial action we’ve seen in previous clips.
Kilmer's character will have a full role in the film but in this trailer we only see a picture of him as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell’s commanding officer once again reprimands him for his history of showoff behavior.
Fans are excited to see more of the eye-popping aerial stunts that made the previous Top Gun a hit in 1986. For this sequel, Cruise insisted that all scenes of the actors in cockpits be shot with real F-18 Super Hornets- requiring the cast to undergo serious training to cope with the immense G-forces of flight.
Top Gun: Maverick flies into theaters May 27th.
