PREMIERE: Vernon Jane debut intense video for 'Over'
It's seriously got us in the mood for their The Ritual Of Love Making album, which is out this Friday...
Lockdown hasn't prevented Vernon Jane unleashing this hypnotising video for 'Over', the third track to be lifted from their debut album, The Ritual Of Love Making, which follows on May 15 and will be getting the Hot Press review treatment in our next Emergency Issue.
The Ritual Of Love Making lives up to its title by exploring the intimacy, vulnerability, aggression, shame, power, love and healing of what goes on between the sheets in four distinct sections - Cleanse, Sink, Drown, Float.
Filmed and edited by Joe Guppy, 'Over' introduces the third section and "is about drowning in the truth. You don’t get closure. You don’t get answers. Slaves to one another, there is a constant push and pull between knowing that it is so wrong to stay, but wanting more than anything to stay and start again, and save the other person no matter what it does to you. But you have to let go completely. It breaks you and takes a part of you."
The full album track-listing is:
1. Cleanse
2. Daddy Issues
3. 333
4. Sink
5. Drugs You Do
6. Otherside
7. Drown
8. Last Good Fuck
9. Over
10. Float
11. Weapon Between Her Legs
12. Fuck Her
Safe to say that one or two of those are unlikely to be getting much daytime radio airplay although, you never know, Joe Duffy listeners might take a shine to 'Last Good Fuck'...
