Nicolas Cage to play Joe Exotic in new miniseries
No, this is not Waterford Whispers. Yes, my nightmares have become terrifying reality.
Nicolas Cage has been announced to play the former zoo keeper in a new series inspired by the Tiger King personality.
When Tiger King aired on Netflix in March, thousands of quarantined individuals (including me) watched in confusion/shock/horror as the documentary series unfolded, revealing murder mystery, animal cruelty (on all sides), meth addiction, and the seedy underbelly of the American South.
The new TV series will be produced by Nicolas Cage, and will run eight episodes. It has been written by Dan Lagana, the American Vandal showrunner. According to Variety, the series will be produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.
Exotic is currently serving a 22 year prison sentence for plotting to murder Carole Baskin, a self-described animal rights activist.
Cage won an Oscar for his 1995 role in Leaving Las Vegas.
