The series will also feature Bel Powley as Aunt Petunia, Nick Frost as groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape, Emmy award-winning actor John Lithgow as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and Tony and Golden Globe award-winning actress Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall.

Returning to the Harry Potter universe, English actor and TV presenter Warwick Davis will play his original role, Professor Filius Flitwick.
The first series of the forthcoming HBO show was adapted from the first book of JK Rowling's saga, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The show's subsequent series will feature her other novels.
Alongside Francesca Gardiner, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman, Rowling will be serving as an executive producer.
"The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have adored for over 25 years," said HBO.
"Exploring every corner of the wizarding world, each season will bring Harry Potter and its incredible adventures to new and existing audiences... The original, classic and cherished films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch around the world."
