Netflix shares images of new Pamela Anderson documentary

New images from the upcoming Netflix documentary about Pamela Anderson, Pamela, A Love Story, have been released.

Following on from the Disney+’s mini series earlier this year, Pam and Tommy, the upcoming Netflix documentary will see the blonde bombshell “tell her story” on the infamous sex tape scandal.

Pamela, A Love Story, will see the former Baywatch star discuss her rise to fame, her rocky romances, and of course, the infamous sex tape with her former husband, Tommy Lee, drummer of Mötley Crüe, through a series of personal videos and diaries.

The documentary’s synopsis reads: “An intimate and humanising portrait of one of the world’s most famous blonde bombshells. Pamela, a love story follows the trajectory of Pamela Anderson’s life and career from small town girl to international sex symbol, actress, activist and doting mother.”

The documentary which was originally announced in March, is set to premiere next month.

Told from the perspective of Pamela herself, the upcoming release differs from the Disney+ series, which saw Lily James - who played the model - reach out to Anderson without ever receiving a response.

According to reports from Entertainment Weekly, the Baywatch star was unhappy with the show and would “never, never watch” it.

“I was really hopeful that she would be involved,” James said, speaking on her attempt to reach out to Anderson. “I wish it had been different.”

In response to the documentary’s announcement on Netflix, Pamela Anderson took to Instagram to write: “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story.”

Directed by The Keepers’ Ryan White, Pamela, A Love Story will be available to stream 31st January 2023.
