Netflix releases trailer for Gentle Monster
The trilingual film stars Léa Seydoux as a concert pianist whose life is disrupted by a police investigation.
Netflix has released the official trailer for the thriller Gentle Monster. The film comes out in cinemas on October 30 and will be on Netflix from November 18.
Gentle Monster stars Léa Seydoux as Lucy, a concert pianist whose life is shaken up when her husband is accused of a terrible crime. The film deals with questions of trust, family relationships, and sexual misconduct.
A German-French-Austrian collaboration, it blends three languages. It is set in Germany, with some characters speaking French and Lucy speaking English with her husband.
Léa Seydoux is a French actress best known for her roles in Midnight in Paris and The Grand Budapest Hotel. She won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the 2013 film Blue Is the Warmest Color.
Marie Kreutzer wrote and directed the film, which also stars Catherine Deneuve, Jella Haase, and Laurence Rupp.
The music in the film was composed by Camille Dalmais, a French singer-songwriter known by her first name. Her work on the soundtrack of Emilia Pérez won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and the Soundtrack Award at Cannes.
