Machine Gun Kelly reveals plans for new music in livestream
The Texas-born rapper has been busy with film efforts and collaborations this year, but he promised fans his new music was on the way.
Machine Gun Kelly revealed via Instagram live on Monday that he will be releasing new music in August. Following an already busy year, Kelly is set to go on his Tickets To My Downfall US tour in the autumn.
In the livestream, Kelly responded to a question regarding his recent activity, saying: “I’ve been filming a movie this month and getting ready for the next album rollout and this tour. I’m excited for the album; you know, me and Travis [Barker]. We got back in [to the studio] and everything’s just falling into place. I feel really happy with everything.” He later confirmed that new music would be coming in August.
This month, Kelly begins filming a new rap movie. The title is to be changed from the original Good News?, following criticism from the brother of late rapper Mac Miller. 'Good News' is the name of Miller's posthumous single and the film title was a direct reference to it. Producers have issued an apology for being "disrespectful," saying they had intended it to pay homage to "Mac Miller and other artists gone too soon". While the new title is to be confirmed, filming will begin this week in L.A.
