Laura Whitmore to host new ITV weekend talk show
Laura Whitmore is set to host a new ITV1 Sunday morning talk show this coming spring.
Wicklow media personality Laura Whitmore has been announced as a host of a new, weekend talk show on ITV.
The upcoming, as yet unnamed entertainment and lifestyle type series arrives after Whitmore hosted a BBC Radio 5 Live show last year.
On her Instagram and Twitter, Whitmore reposted the announcement, with the cheekily adding, "My own chat show on ITV1, ah sure go on so!"
Also getting a new show is South African dancer, Oti Mabuse - known for her work as a judge on ITV's Dancing On Ice and as a panelist on The Masked Dancer - as well as winning Strictly Come Dancing twice in a row. Katie Piper's Breakfast Show will also be renewed.
"In Katie, Oti and Laura we have three dynamic, engaging broadcasters who bring energy and flair to our weekend schedules," said Katie Rawcliffe, the head of entertainment commissioning for ITV and ITVX. "Each of their shows will give viewers that perfect weekend wake-up call."
The Irish star's show is set to host "celebrity guests, topical chats, and surprise features."
Whitmore has previously appeared hosting productions like Love Island, Survival of the Fittest, and This Morning. She's also hosted her BBC Radio 5 Live show, although she announced in July that she would step down from the Sunday morning show.
The 37-year-old has also written No One Can Change Your Life Except For You, a book exploring her own experiences in life to help others with theirs.
She remains busy in the interim, filming investigative documentary series Laura Whitmore Investigates for ITV. The London-based personality is also currently in the West End production of 2:22 - A Ghost Story. The weekend chat show for ITV will debut in spring 2023.
