Jessie Buckley stars in new Frankenstein reimagining The Bride!
The Bride! is scheduled for release on March 6, 2026.
Jessie Buckley will star alongside Christian Bale in The Bride!. Directed by Maggie Gylenhaal, the film draws inspiration from James Whale’s 1935 classic Bride of Frankenstein.
Set in 1930s Chicago, the story follows a lonely Frankenstein (Christian Bale), who enlists groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (Annette Bening) to create a companion. The experiment revives a murdered young woman, resulting in Buckley’s character, the bride.
The film weaves together elements of murder, possession, and a radical cultural movement, while also exploring the romance between the two outcasts. The trailer highlights the gothic aesthetics that have long defined Mary Shelley’s original novel.
Buckley, who has earned international acclaim for her performances in I’m Thinking of Ending Things (2020) and The Lost Daughter (2021), leads an ensemble cast that also includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Penélope Cruz.
The Bride! is scheduled for release in Ireland on March 6, 2026.
