We've Only Just Begun launches directory of over 600 female and non-binary recording artists, bands and DJs
The We've Only Just Begun festival was cancelled earlier this year, due to COVID-19.
We've Only Just Begun has launched a massive directory of female and non-binary musicians, bands and DJs based in Ireland. Inspired by UK-based The F List, curated by Vick Bain, the directory aims to "promote female and non-binary artists and give bookers, promoters, agents, radio programmers, labels and managers a direct contact with profiled artists for professional opportunities."
We’ve Only Just Begun Festival would have had its third edition this year, but the festival was cancelled due to COVID-19. "Since our festival could not go ahead, we wanted to work on an alternative project with the same objective as our annual festival – to promote female artists in Ireland," their website states.
The Directory was compiled by Shauna Watson, with thanks to Vick Bain, Jodie Delany, Stephen D’arcy, Sally Ó Dúnlaing, Lauren Geary, Grace McManus, Lauren Rusowicz, Rubyworks Records, Fair Plé, Ciara O’Leary Fitzpatrick, Ciaran O’Brien, Theodora Byrne and Mary Watson. It has a comprehensive search engine and features profiles of over 600 female and non-binary artists.
