Watch: The First Trailer For The Watchmen Series Is Here
The clock is ticking.
The first trailer for HBO's upcoming Watchmen series has finally arrived.
The series, based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons highly influential graphic novel series that ran from 1986 to 1987, is produced by Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers) and stars Jeremy Irons (Justice League), Jean Smart (Arrested Development) and Regina King (The Leftovers).
The Watchmen series is an updated reimagining of the novel and takes place in an alternate universe where superheroes exist but are treated as outlaws.
Unlike Zach Snyder's ambitious, yet divisive Watchmen film, the upcoming series is not a direct adaptation of the book. It will instead "remix" the graphic novel, adapting the concepts found in it to reflect current sociopolitical issues.
