Track of The Day: Joshua Burnside and Sorbet – 'Under The Concrete'

Alt-folk songwriter Joshua Burnside is back, this time teaming up with a different producer to provide an imaginative new face for 'Under The Concrete', one of his fan-favourite tracks.

Sorbet, aka Chris Ryan (whose name might be familiar from his production work wth Just Mustard, Newdad, and Robocobra Quartet) takes the reins today, with a heady, deep house take on the tune. The original track comes from Burnside's latest record, the sublime Into The Depths of Hell. 

His rework of the song capitalises on Burnside's love of global folk music, focusing on the West African rhythms of the original. Sorbet finds colourful new vistas to display in the familiar tune, enhancing the melodies and rhythms in order to give 'Under The Concrete' a textured, tropical feel.
