Shane MacGowan festival to kick off in Tipperary this month
Shane's sister, Siobhan MacGowan, posted about the event, commenting that it will be full of "dancing at the crossroads" with music, a marquee and refreshments.
A special day to honour the legendary Tipperary singer and poet, Shane MacGowan, will take place later this month in Kilbarron Village, where he spent many extended summer holidays in the family homestead in nearby Carney Commons.
"A Day of Commemoration & Celebration of Shane MacGowan" will take place at the Broad Majestic Shannon festival on Sunday 18th August at Kilbarron near Nenagh in the north of the county.
Shane's sister, Siobhan MacGowan, posted about the event on her Facebook, commenting that it will be full of "dancing at the crossroads" with music, a marquee and refreshments while at 3pm Siobhan MacGowan will dedicate 'The Broad Majestic Shannon' monument to the memory of her brother.
