Rufus Wainwright to host virtual concert honouring Judy Garland's 99th birthday
Fans can enter for a chance to win tickets to 'Rufus Does Judy At Capitol Studios' by presaving his new collaboration with Fred Falke and Zen Freeman, 'Technopera'.
Celebrated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright is hosting a mammoth virtual concert on June 10th, in celebration of what would have been legendary actress and singer Judy Garland's 99th birthday.
The two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist will be performing his groundbreaking 2007 tribute to Garland, Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall in its entirety, live from Los Angeles’ famed Capitol Studios. The event will premiere Thursday, June 10 at 8:00 PM EST, and Wainwright will be backed by a four-piece band in front of a very special micro audience.
Attendees will include Academy Award-winning actress Renée Zellweger – who won the Oscar for her performance as Garland in 2019's Judy. In addition, Wainwright will be joined musically by award-winning stage and screen star Kristin Chenoweth in person at Capitol Studios, as well as his sister Martha Wainwright from Montreal.
Tickets for the event are available now, exclusively via Veeps, and priced at $30 (€24.60) (advance)/$35 (€28.69) (day of show). There will also be ticket bundles available with the opportunity for fans to participate in an intimate Q&A with Rufus priced at $60 (€49.19) (advance) / $65 (€53.29) (day of show).
Fans have the opportunity to win streaming links to the show by pre-saving Wainwright's next project, a collaboration with celebrated house DJs Fred Falke and Zen Freeman, Technopera.
