Pat Shortt, Aidan Crowe and Emer Dineen announced for stage adaptation of Blindboy's short stories
ANIMALS, adapted from The Gospel According to Blindboy, will be running from September 23 to November 7, 2026.
The cast for ANIMALS, the stage adaptation of Blindboy's short stories, has been announced.
It includes Aidan Crowe, Emer Dineen, John Doran, Ashleigh Dorrell, Liz FitzGibbon, Manus Halligan, Jeanne Nicole Ní Áinle, Karl Quinn and Pat Shortt - with further cast to be announced.
ANIMALS will run in the Abbey Theatre from September 23 to November 7, 2026. The show is adapted and directed by Dan Colley, who was involved in theatre projects Lost Lear in 2022 and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings in 2019.
"When reading Blindboy's short stories for the first time, I found them wildly imaginative, fiercely intelligent and deeply moving," said Colley. "They were exactly the kind of story I'm drawn to for stage adaptation - totally unstageable."
Blindboy's characters will be brought to life on stage as we follow Erskine Fogarty on the road to Limerick, the vengeful Pamela Furlong and the Poitín Maker.
Tickets sell from €16.50 to €56.50 and are available here.
