Gaptoof and Kean Kavanagh share smooth new single, 'Dean Street'
Gaptoof announced via Instagram that we can expect his debut EP in February 2020.
Anyone in the Irish music industry will tell you that Soft Boy Records is the contemporary label to keep an eye on. From Kojaque to the new wave jazz trio Five to Two, the artists on this bedroom record label consistently push the sound envelope.
This time, Cork city producer Gaptoof – real name Adam Gould – wields his undeniably smooth hip-hop beats in the form of 'Dean Street', a brand new single featuring Soft Boy brother Kean Kavanagh. Kavanagh cemented his position as one to watch after his soulful turn on Kojaque's 'Eviction Notice' in 2018.
In a favourite Soft Boy formula, 'Dean Street' weaves elements of jazz and R&B underneath mournful lyrics and a stunning melody. The single, which dropped at midnight on Friday, comes with the announcement that Gaptoof will release his own EP in February.
