Over the past year Limerick journalist Alan Owens has traveled on assignment to Wimbledon in London and SXSW in Texas. The Limerick man has always been hugely into music. Full-time with the Limerick Leader newspaper since 2008, Owens started as a music blogger. He was recruited by the much respected Limerick Event Guide, then made the jump to the Leader as the paper’s arts/features correspondent. He has been highlighting the thriving music and arts scene in the city and interviewing a revolving cast of characters ever since, from Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand to Dustin The Turkey.
