'Lawman' is a tightly-coiled, bass-driven and wholly black-hearted treat.
It starts with a snappy beat that suggests Roy Orbison's 'Oh, Pretty Woman' is about to kick in, before quickly heading for the low-end and getting a little dirt on those thick strings. Promised before Christmas, Girl Band's 'Lawman' single is out Friday, but you can stream it now.
We suggest you do. A nagging chainsaw riff, a bit of Black Francis style ranting over the top ("I used to be good looking!" comes a yell/drawl from across the room) and a noisy build to something... well, even noisier.
Stream it below or pick up the 7" here – but be quick, it's a limited Any Other City run of 300 copies.
For their next trick, Girl Band tour the UK in the second half of January.
