Ricky Warwick announces Irish tour
The Almighty man Ricky Warwick has announced a 12-date Irish tour, starting at the end of the month.
Ricky Warwick jets back from LA to play the Ivy Bar, Newtownards (May 30); Cellar Bar, Draperstown (31); Sandino’s, Derry (June 5); Gleeson’s, Clonmel (7); DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (8); Matt Molloy’s, Westport (10); Clarence, Sligo (11); Diamond Bar, Agohill (12); Common Rooms, Dungannon (13); Katy Daly’s, Belfast (14 @ 4pm); Square Peg, Warrenpoint (19); and Island Arts Centre, Lisburn (20).
The Almighty mainman will be previewing Belfast Confetti, his third solo album, which is due in September.
“These songs were unexpected, hidden deep inside me, in a voice I had yet to find,” says the 41-year-old who’s originally from Newtownards. “We get older and we forget about the learning part of life, or we feel we are done learning. I have learned a lot lately, I feel reborn in a way, and excited about music and the promise it extends to all who truly want to be a part of the story. I hope you recognise yourself, or maybe an uncle or a friend in these songs. They all came along for the journey.”
