Laughing Len returns to Irish shores this September.
As exclusively revealed last month in Hot Press, Leonard Cohen is bringing his Old Ideas World Tour to Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham on September 11 and 12.
Tickets priced from €75 go on sale on Friday March 30 and won’t, we imagine, be hanging around for long.
Mr. Cohen – if there’s a musician worthy of respect, he’s it! – first visit to the Royal Hospital was in 2008 when he blew everybody, including our man Stuart Clark, away with his Springsteen-esque three-hour set.
“Orgasmic” was his summation of a show, which drew from every phase of the Canadian’s 50-year-plus career.
Team Hot Press is looking forward to hearing a batch of new tunes from Old Ideas, which is arguably his best studio album since 1988’s I’m Your Man. It certainly contains one of his finest ever lyrics – “I love to speak with Leonard/He's a sportsman and a shepherd/He's a lazy bastard/Living in a suit” – which features on the opening ‘Going Home’.
