Lovers of quality TV drama will be glued to Sky Atlantic at 9pm on January 29 as the channel's new £25 million blockbuster, Fortitude, makes its feature-length debut.
The new issue of Hot Press, out this Thursday, includes an in-depth interview with Richard Dormer who stars in the show as Sheriff Dan Anderssen.
"A lot of people are comparing it to The Killing but once they get into it you'll realise it's nothing like those shows," Richard tells us. "It's an incredibly original idea. I can't give anything away but it is unique. It's on its own. It may look familiar - you know, the ice and stuff - but where this thing goes, you couldn't dream it up. It's crazy, really ambitious."
Recalling January 2014's first ensemble read through of the script in London, the Northern Irish actor adds: "There were about a hundred people sat around a very big hotel table. I'm beside Christopher Eccleston, Michael Gambon, Stanley Tucci and Sofie Gråbøl - make sure you get all the vowely bits in her name right! - going, 'This is the crème de la crème of character acting.' I mean, Michael Gambon..."
