Aoife Moriarty to release debut single and album
‘Alphabet Soup’ will be released on February 5 as the debut single from Aoife Moriarty’s forthcoming album Dolls and Jigsaws.
Moriarty began her songwriting career in The International Bar scene of 1999 alongside the likes of Damien Dempsey, Declan O’Rourke and Damien Rice. Since then she has taken her music to places as far apart as Long Island, Louisville, Nashville, Memphis and Munich.
Ranging from folky guitar troubadour to quirky pop, the songs on Dolls and Jigsaws reflect Moriarty’s diverse range of influences, from early Madonna to Steely Dan and Blossom Dearie.
Several of the songs were produced at The Production Suite, Dublin with Chris O’Brien and Graham Murphy (The Blue Nile, Human League).
Meanwhile, her live line-up includes Darac O’Laoire on guitar, Lennart Breternitz on bass and Thomas Nolan on drums and vocals.
A series of gigs around the country will follow the single release over the coming months.
‘Alphabet Soup’ is available from downloadmusic.ie by texting 2057 to 57501.
Dolls & Jigsaws by Aoife Moriarty can be downloaded on iTunes now and will be available in record stores after February 5.
