John Strong lands Aslan support
Bluesy popster John Strong has bagged a support slot for a gig on Aslan's upcoming tour.
John Strong, whose current single ‘Bring It On Home’ is attracting generous plaudits, has been confirmed as the support for Aslan’s gig in the Iontas Centre in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan on June 28. Strong is also lined up for gigs at Eamon Dorans and Whelans in the coming months.
Earlier this year Strong was selected as First Cuts Pick Of The Fortnight in Hot Press. He has been described by Jackie Hayden as having 'an instinctive understanding of rock and blues well beyond his years' and that he 'trades a fine brand of blues pop'. He has also drawn comparisons with David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. In the past he has also enjoyed support slots with the likes of Mundy and Declan O'Rourke.
