Born This Way straight in at the top spot
Well, it's finally happened. Adele has been knocked off the top of the Irish Album charts following an astonishing 15 non-consecutive weeks at the top. It was going to take something special to depose the Londoner from her perch so it should come as no surprise to learn that the irrepressible Lady Gaga is responsible.
Born This Way, arguably the most anticipated album of 2011, has met expectations and gone straight in at No. 1 in its first week of release. Adele hasn't fallen too far though, with current album 21 and original full-length 19 taking up the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Not too shabby I'm sure you'll agree.
Elsewhere, Slane-bound Kings Of Leon and Thin Lizzy have climbed the charts with the headliners' Come Around Sundown up nine places to No. 5 while Waiting For An Alibi - The Collection sees the legendary Dublin rockers leap 15 places to No. 6.

Irish upstarts The Minutes take the second-highest new entry at No. 16 with debut offering Marcata while The Prodigy crash in with new live album World's On Fire at No. 28 with Dublin-based hopefuls Storyfold just behind at No. 29 with their debut Rocket Science.
