Martha Reeves to play two Irish shows
The Motown legend will play with the Vandellas, in Dublin and Cork this summer
Discovered in 1962 by Motown A & R man William “Mickey” Stevenson, jazz/blues singer Reeves backed Marvin Gaye on his first three releases before hitting the big time herself.
With hits like 'Heat Wave', 'Nowhere to Run', and of course, 'Dancing in the Street', Reeves' soulful voice soon became synonymous with 'the voice of young America.' She left Motown in 1972, but continues to write and release music. A Gold collection was released in March 2006, followed by The Definitive Collection in 2009.
