La Roux is number 7 in the Irish charts
It was a tough week to release a single or album when one of the world's most influential singers just died and his millions of fans rushed out to buy his music.
Despite all that, electro sensation La Roux have managed to make it to number 7 with her song 'Bulletproof'.
Singer Elly Jackson cites Prince and Bowie as her biggest influences on her music and style but says that if it weren't for her dad's taste in music, she would have been left listening to just Boyzone and the Spice Girls.

"If I hadn’t had my dad to tell me about music, all I would’ve discovered is Boyzone, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls and bands my sister told me about, which is all that’s marketed to you," she says. "My teens were a very grey area musically, I don’t really remember what I liked or even what was in the charts then. I guess this was about seven or eight years ago."
