Dickie Rock to release album of 'contemporary classics'

Following on from the success of the RTE documentary about his involvement in the Irish showband scene, Dickie's recorded a new album of songs written by contemporary Irish artists.

The first single is an interpretation of the Van Morrison classic, ‘Moondance’, which will go to radio on September 10. The album will be released on September 28.

Dickie has also put pen to paper to chronicle his life story, particularly his time with the Miami Showband, when he attracted the kind of mass hysteria normally reserved for the likes of The Beatles. The book goes on sale September 17.

Details of an extensive tour in support of both book and album will be released shortly.
