New calendar aims to highlight whistleblowers

Following the recent stories on Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden, whistleblowing has become a huge topic in the international media.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 10 Oct 2013

October 21 sees the launch of a new calendar in aid of whistleblowing organisations, with international lawyer and glamour model Dr. Roslyn Fuller at the helm.

The calendar comprises shots of Fuller's modelling career alongside some of the most influential stories on whistleblowing throughout history. Fuller, who has lectured at Trinity College and NUI Maynooth, spoke to Hot Press in 2009, offering an insight into baring all for the camera.

"There are some people who do nude modelling that think all you have to do is strip off naked – but that’s just the beginning", she said. "You have to be able to express yourself in the photo. And you have to be able to do it at a drop of a dime, even if you are feeling really awful about yourself. You have to understand what people find sexy and communicate that. That’s what a photo is about – it should say something to the viewer. It’s not just a naked chick – that’s just porn.”

All profits from the calendar will go to organisations that protect whistleblowers. It will soon be available for purchase from
