As a mark of respect to the iconic rock star, The National have recorded a cover version of the late singer's 'Damaged By Love', which they posted on Instagram last night.

Here's the video of The National's frontman Matt Berninger with guitarist Bryce Dessner performing their version of the Tom Petty song from his 2006 solo album ‘Highway Companion’.

Damaged by Love singing Petty songs all day long. Thank you for all this incredible music.
