This Other Kingdom Bring Brighter Rays to Autumnal Days
Masters of psychedelic rock, This Other Kingdom, are today premiering their video for ‘Rays for Days (When the Sun Did Shine)’ - what is to be the final single from their latest long player RÊVEUR.
The track will instantly transport you back to the 60’s and could be voiced by Jim Morrison himself. Haunting vocals and dizzying guitars against a constant drum beat results in a repetitive, mantra-like melody. Closing out on a more soulful note with gospelesque backing vocals, this is an anthem.
The video is shot around a popular part of Dublin, with some recognisable haunts (and a very handsome dog). The opening scene evokes the feeling of the song with a vibrant mandala on the wall, and fittingly The Beatles’ Rubber Soul on display. The lead certainly summons the spirit of a certain ‘Rock n’ Roll Star’, and the pack of Tayto is a nice touch.
An open door leaves the video at a close with an escaped dog - we hope he’s OK.
A band for fans of The Doors, BRMC and The Verve.
The lads are playing Whelans for the single launch on November 10th with support from VLLNS.
