The Klares scoop Schools Award in The Big Break

Their catchy indie rock beguiled the judges of the competition, in association with ALCATEL ONETOUCH.

Yesterday we brought you news that Ciaran Lavery had triumphed in The Big Break 2015, in association with ALCATEL ONETOUCH, and from today you can pick up the new issue of Hot Press with the man himself as cover star. There's also an in-depth interview with the singer-songwriter inside.

There was, of course, another prize up for grabs, to recognise the depth and array of talent we heard coming from student artists.

Now we can reveal that The Klares are the winners of Schools Award in The Big Break 2015. This fresh-faced Dublin foursome have a real love for British indie rock and are channeling influences that include the Arctic Monkeys in a catchy, vibrant way. Strong songs and the right attitude will take them far.

We will be having a chat with the band in a forthcoming issue. Before that, check out their performance of 'Sundance Soldier' in the Storeroom below.
