He brings The Wall to Dublin.
Having packed the Point/02 on numerous occasions, Roger Waters brings The Wall to the Dublin Aviva on September 18, 2013. Tickets priced €69.50 go on sale on Friday November 16.
Finessed to the nth degree by Waters and his all-star band of players, the Pink Floyd classic will be getting an airing in 13 stadiums Europewide.
“Flawless”, “The pinnacle of rock achievement” and “Eye-popping” were just a few of the reviews when it last swung round these parts.
Waters was in action this week jamming with a group of wounded veterans at the annual Stand Up For Heroes benefit in Boston.
“I lost my grandfather in 1916 and my father in 1944, so I've been around the sense of loss and what loss from war can do to people,’’ he reflected. ‘‘I never talk about the politics because it’s not relevant to me. I'm not interested in it. What I am interested in is the burdens these guys bear.”
Asked the inevitable ‘Floyd to reform?’ question, he answered: ‘‘I think David (Gilmour) is retired by and large. I shouldn’t speak for him. But that’s the impression I get. Hey whatever. All good things come to an end.’’
