Parquet Courts announce Dublin show
The band are set to play The Academy, Dublin on 3 November.
The New York group released their 6th studio album, Wide Awake!, last Friday.
A punk band who incorporate elements of funk and pop, their new album was produced by Brian Burton or, as he’s better known as, Danger Mouse. Burton has previously worked with Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2 and Beck.
“I personally liked the fact that I was writing a record that indebted to punk and funk, and Brian’s a pop producer who’s made some very polished records. I liked that it didn’t make sense,” said Andrew Savage, the singer/guitarists of Parquet Courts.
The show in The Academy is the opening date of their winter European tour. The 12 date tour includes dates in Germany, the UK, The Netherlands and France.
Tickets are €22.90 and are on sale 25 May from www.ticketmaster.ie
