As if having Lady Gaga return to the world of music wasn't enough, now the singer/songwriter has confirmed that she will duet with Florence Welch on her new album.
The multi-Grammy winning singer teased everyone on Twitter before unveiling her new track 'Perfect Illusion' early this morning.
Produced by Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, the song features a pummelling electric guitar riff, lyrics about disillusionment with the superficiality of social media, and the same kind of synthpop beats we've grown to associate with the Manhattan singer. Yet it's not as decision a hit as songs like 'Poker Face' or 'Just Dance' were. After a year long wait since her last single, and a three year wait since her last solo album, fans could be forgiven for expecting something more.
If more is what they want, then maybe the news that Gaga is to team up with Florence Welch for a duet on her new album may satiate their desires. Calling Welch one of the best singers in the world, Gaga broke the news during an interview with BBC Radio 1 this morning, just hours after releasing 'Perfect Illusion'.
