While the Twin Peaks season three finale left many viewers frustrated by the lack of a complete resolution, singer Julee Cruise voiced her dismay over the lack of a complete Julee Cruise song being featured.
Famous for her haunting performances of the songs 'Falling' and 'The World Spins' during the series' original run, Cruise was asked by director David Lynch to return for the two-part finale, which aired on Sunday night in the US. The final musical act to play in the show's fictional venue, The Roadhouse, Cruise sang 'The World Spins' accompanied by members of Chromatics.
Taking to Facebook to criticize Lynch's choice to edit down her performance, she said "he did it to slap me in the face."
Insisting further that she "will never work for the Emperor again", Cruise took the moment to mention that when news of the Twin Peaks' revival first broke, she attempted to avoid Lynch to the best of her abilities, writing, "I tried to hide. I changed my numbed! I changed my email address...it was such A BUMMER when I heard it was coming back."
