He's also giving away a free Beyoncé cover.
Joe Echo, alias Belfast singer Ciaran Gribbin, limbers up for the release of his debut album in Whelan’s, Dublin (May 30) and Upstairs @ Dolan’s, Limerick (June 26).
Having completed five songs in London’s Metropolis Studios with Richard Ashcroft, Blur, The Feeling and The Verve producer Chris Potter, Joe went on to spend the rest of 2008 collaborating with the likes of Paul Oakenfold and Groove Armada’s Andy Cato, and recording several tracks for the new Philip Ridley movie, Heartless, starring Jim Sturgess and Timothy Spall.
Along the way, he also got to fool around with Beyoncé Knowles.
“I was asked to play a cover song live on a radio show and decided to try this Beyoncé song, ‘If I Were A Boy’,” he explains. “Strange choice I know but the feedback was so positive that I thought it would be good to record and release it as a free download single.”
