Singer makes an impromptu appearance on Imeall this Thursday...
A cabaret moment of magic featuring a duet by Jack L and Eleanor McEvoy at last month's Wexford’s Cáca Milis Cabaret will air this Thursday March 9 @ 9.30pm on Imeall, TG4’s arts show.
The evening was a fundraiser for Cáca Milis, an alternative arts cabaret presented by Helena Mulkerns at the Wexford Arts Centre. Running since January 2009 and featuring music, spoken word, burlesque, comedy, short film and more, the crew made an impression at last year’s Electric Picnic, with their two-night stint on the Arts Council Stage in the Mindfield, where they’ll perform again this year.
Jack L and Eleanor McEvoy topped a memorable night of performance, with the highlight being a stunning duet of Leonard Cohen’s 'Hallelujah'. The event was filmed live by Red Shoe Productions for broadcast on Imeall.
“It’s been a fantastic night,” Mulkerns told Tristan Rosenstock. “The idea behind the Cabaret is for emerging artists to perform alongside established performers, and hopefully magic will happen and connections will be made.”

Apart from a rather special evening, which raised €1,200 for the not-for-profit Cabaret (part of which was donated to the Simon Community), hotly-tipped Wexford outfit The Darling Sins had the pleasure of meeting Jack L – who recommended them to Chanteuse Camille O’Sullivan. That led to the Sin’s excellent support slot at O’Sullivan’s recent gig at the Cork Opera House.
Other artists in the line-up included Galway writer Gerry Hanberry, Satori Stream, Joey Ryan and Kevin Connelly.
