Having had a ‘7/7… The wait is over!’ message on it for a number of months, Garth Brook’s website is now promising a press conference on Thursday July 10 at 5pm Irish time, which will be live streamed.
Assuming that ‘7/7’ translates as July 7, it appears that the announcement of the country superstar’s comeback world tour - and possibly a new album - has been delayed to hopefully include some good news for Irish fans.
Despite intense ongoing discussions between the various parties, Hot Press understands that no accommodation or breakthrough has been reached yet.
Speaking over the weekend, promoter Peter Aiken told RTÉ Radio 1 that, “The idea of moving to a different venue… it just wouldn’t work because the stuff is custom-made for Croke Park. Twelve container-loads have already left America en route here. These are special lights that are going to be put into the Hogan and the Cusack stands. We have a schedule to start on July 12 in Croke Park; that’s how big a build-up this is.”
