The folk singer took the time to do so during a North Carolina gig.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros renewed a gay couple's wedding vows live on stage during a concert in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday night, May 27.
Frontman Alex Ebert and his band were playing their concert in protest of the state's controversial HB2 or "Bathroom Law". Many artists including Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam have cancelled scheduled appearances in the state in protest against the new law.
Sharpe and his band took it one step further by inviting married gay couple Dan Matthews and Jack Ryan onstage to renew their vows. Ebert himself oversaw the renewal which took place during the track 'Home'. Ebert also told the couple to, "express your love freely, whenever and wherever" in front of the 2,500 strong crowd. Check out footage from the concert below.
