With Celtic Woman top 5 this week in America, there’s much industry speculation as to who’ll be the next adult-oriented Irish act to break there.
The HP Newsdesk suggests putting a few euro on Druid, a five-piece male voice ensemble who are being looked after by Dido and Irish Tenors Musical Director David Wray.
Their set ranges from standards like ‘Danny Boy’ and ‘Raglan Road’ to new compositions by Karl Jenkins, Ronan Hardiman and Brendan Graham.
Following an exploratory visit to the States last month, they’ve been invited back on May 30 to play an Alliance For Human Rights show in New York’s Radio City with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman and Yo-Yo Ma.
Accompanied by a 13-piece orchestra and with a set designed by Il Divo and Kylie Minogue man Charlie Kail, they also play UCH, Limerick on March 10.
