Stencils on New York pavements and a blimp over London suggest Richard D James has something big brewing.
This summer has seen rake of old, rare Aphex Twin records surfacing online, but it would now seem we’re about to get something new.
In an ingenious bit of viral marketing, the Aphex Twin logo appeared on New York sidewalks and emblazoned on a blimp over London (pictured) over the weekend. Said blimp also had the year “2014” displayed, suggesting whatever Richard D James is planning, we’re going to be getting it sooner rather than later.
The electronic music pioneer hasn’t released anything under his famous Aphex moniker since 2001’s Drukqs.
