Amy Winehouse doc in the pipeline
The film will come from the makers of Senna and the Banksy documentary...
The filmmaking team of BAFTA winning director Asif Kapadia and producer James Gay-Rees are currently at work on a new documentary about the life and times of Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse.
The pair who were responsible for Senna and Banksy documentary Exit Through The Gift Shop describe the film as "An incredibly modern, emotional and relevant film that has the power to capture the zeitgeist and shine a light on the world we live in, in a way that very few films can.”
The pair add that: "Amy was a once-in-a-generation talent who captured everyone's attention. She wrote and sung from the heart and everyone fell under her spell. But tragically Amy seemed to fall apart under the relentless media attention, her troubled relationships, her global success and precarious lifestyle."
There's no title or release date as of yet.
